Meet Our Founder, Mr. Max Appel

In 1984, Max and his wife Elaine wanted a cleaner that didn’t contain harsh chemicals, but couldn’t find one. They were concerned about the environmental impact of other cleaning products and believed that natural ingredients such as orange oil could be even more effective as the chemicals contained in traditional brands. Proving once again that necessity is the mother of invention, they tinkered around in their garage, concocting the formula for Orange Glo Wood Cleaner and Polish, a natural product based in orange oil that quickly became a favorite in households all over the world.

Convinced that families were hungry for other natural cleaning products, Max developed OxiClean, a household name that’s sold in tens of thousands of retailers all over the country.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Powerizer is Max’s latest, and his greatest. Not only does Powerizer deliver an exceptional clean to every room and every item in your home, it’s made from natural ingredients that are safe for humans and our environment.
