Meet Max Appel, Inventor of OxiClean and Founder of Powerizer
Max Appel is the inventor and entrepreneur behind household cleaning brands including Orange Glo, OxiClean and Kaboom—and the founder of Powerizer.
In 1984, Max and his wife Elaine wanted an effective cleaner made with naturally derived ingredients, but they could not find one that met their expectations. They began experimenting in their garage and developed Orange Glo Wood Cleaner and Polish, an orange-oil-based product that became a household favorite.
Max later developed OxiClean, which grew into a nationally recognized cleaning brand sold by retailers across the country. His experience creating concentrated cleaning products ultimately led to Powerizer Complete.
Powerizer is Max Appel’s next generation of all-in-one cleaning. The concentrated formula uses plant- and mineral-based cleaning ingredients and is designed for laundry, automatic dishwashers and multiple washable household surfaces.
